Can anyone recommend an undergraduate course in piano performance/music technology?
The student plays very well, is a keen composer and improvisor and has grade 5 theory. He is interested in a course which offer performance (classical/popular) but with the option to do recording/production as well.
I've done some internet searching and read the Guardian University Guide; places like Goldsmith's, LIPA, Leeds, look good. What other places might offer the right mix for him?
  2. The BA Commercial Music degree at Canterbury Christ Church University offers the students performance, composition and music technology or a good mix of all three as their principal studies. There is a big element of jazz on the course so improvisation is used alot.
There are modules in live sound, studio recording (they have a nice proper studio), session musicianship, jazz improvisation, ensemble studies and more.
