UEA PGCE Primary

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by amay92661, Jan 6, 2012.

  1. Hey everyone :) I have just found out that I have a place on the PGCE Primary with MFL at UEA to start September 2012! I am beyond thrilled as I thought my interview had gone terribly! I would be really grateful for any advice anyone who is currently studying (or has done in the recent past) at UEA for the PGCE primary; what would you recommend doing before the course starts, do I need a car, staff who are very helpful/not so much and more general things. I am particularly worried about the paired placement, so any success stories would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

    Alex

Hi Alex - got to ask, are you the female or the male Alex who was there on the 12th Dec for interview? I am the rather more mature lady who was there for the languages interviews. I've also got an offer - just need to finish my degree now - so will also be interested in any replies. Hope to see you in September!

  3. Hey :)
I was also there on the 12th December for the Primary+MFL interviews and I've found out I've been accepted on Primary with French 2012! (go us - woo!) I think I rememeber you both as well :) Did I go to the Blend cafe place with you Alex for some food at one point lol?
Must must must now get my undergrad done.
    See you in September! XD

  9. Hey ,
Ive just gotten a conditional place for the PGCE Primary Spanish as long as I pass the Numeracy test, which i have booked for next week. Such a relief!. Anymore Primary Spanish students?

I'm currently doing the Primary PGCE with Languages - all the languages students have their language sessions together regardless of whether they are doing French, German or Spanish. So even if there aren't any other Spanish students, you will have other Primary Language students in the same position as you! Enjoy the course - the tutors are great!

  11. Thanks for letting me know camis, how many students are doing the languages specialism currently? How did you find the university based part of the course, juggling the main primary lectures as well as the language specialism sessions?

I think there's around 16/17 of us. The language sessions tend to be held on study days, so they don't interfere with the main primary curriculum sessions.

  13. Hey alexmc484,

If all the language students are put together...you'll be with me next year! I'm doing PGCE Primary and German starting in Sept 2013!
