In view of Coronavirus I inadvertently changed my profile with TH to include online teaching in the vain hope of getting any clients and, as this goes to their Admin to approve, I am now, in the light of this thread, waiting to hear from them that I have to register to offer online. In this case I will have to leave them as I am not getting any clients anyway and when I was this was for £20 an hour, with all the marking and preparation this involved.

Free lessons and 25% commission, this is simply and completely unrealistic when you are up against such enormous competition online. They won't get anyone staying with them. Tutors are the ones doing all the work, the preparation, the marking, and the buying of textbooks for specific courses out of any "profit".

Joined TH years ago and never had anyone contact me ever. WHAT do you do to get the students to contact you?

I joined them a couple of weeks ago and I think the student pays a fee to get your details/ No student has contacted me though yet so I dont know exactly

In the last few years, TH seems to have difficulty with the way it works its website. For a while, you got enquiries out of your subject specialism, and way out of the area in which you live. For example, as a science teacher, i would get notified about someone wanting piano tuition in Penzance. You had to respond to all these, otherwise your 'response rate' percentage, which prospective clients could see, would go down. An enduring problem is spurious notifications from parents, who when you check, have not visited the website for months, or even years. j
