My male Italian friends used to go for the local "pizza a metro" - metre width pizza. .

    It's a classic maths question.
Which has more pizza? Which has more crusts?

    But...

Can you eat a whole giant pizza? If you share do you want the same toppings? If you get a half and half will the whole pizza be contaminated by stray anchovy/ pineapple / unacceptable topping of choice? Would you have identical appetites and share evenly?

A little known medical fact is that if you end up in hospital with a highly contagious disease, they'll almost certainly put you on a diet of pizza. It's the only meal they can successfully slide under the isolation ward door.

Strictly for non-mathmaticians (even casual ones).

Actually I quite fancy bringing a pizza joke to this thread but there seems to be an issue with the delivery...

I have used that as a question when teaching area of circles in Maths. Which is the best value if the price is the same. Most kids will guess the 2 x12" but when they do the maths!

You say that.. but it ignores the issue of pineapple.

    Pineapple on pizza is illegal
In the country that I will theoretically one day rule.
(A pizza thread can only ever be destined to eventually elicit one's personal pineapple standpoint, no?)
Aside from which, every single Hawaian pizza I have ever seen has been completely burned, probably because they don't have the expertise to use aloha oven setting.

Sorry to lower the tone but I abhor the practice of adding /s/. There's a perfectly good plural. It's /pizze/.

That is so incredibly vile that it wouldn't even get any likes if you posted it over on "What are you having for dinner tonight", that's exactly how vile it is.

Comapre and contrast to adding /s/ to panini, which is plural already. There is a perfeclty good singular. It is /panino/.
