Has anyone ever set up a music tutoring business or worked for a company that supplies music tutoring? I'm thinking about putting something together to gain some more experience outside of the classroom working with a broader range of students.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve heard of people who have done this - either in areas where there is no longer a county music service or where they are offering quite a niche service e.g. Kodaly classes, pre-school music groups, Music Tech classes etc. I think you would need to do some market research in your area to see if there is a gap in provision or a demand for the particular service you have in mind.
