Dear All, I am a frequent visitor but and infrequent poster. At the moment though I could use some advice from someone knowledgable! Any help would be most welcome. My school is closing and re-opening as a foundation trust. I am currently a subject leader in the old school, with a TLR, and I also recieve a reduced timetable to fulfil my role properly. The new school is reducing management numbers, and I have lost my TLR, however as I understand it I will have my salary protected for some time under TUPE. In this period of time my employer has told me that I need to continue to carry out extra duties to earn this money, but I will no longer have time (a reduced timetable) to carry them out in. I will be on a full teaching timetable. I want to know if this is true. I would say that the extra classes I am now directed to take on will take up the time in which I am currently carrying out my teaching and learning responsibilities, and I am not willing to take on extra things outside my contracted hours. Can they make me do this extra work or lose my protected salary? Thanks!
