treating staff with same rules as students

    Indeed it does but the neither the same set of rules nor same set of standards should be applied to both staff and students.

    All the kids called all the staff by their first names at that school. Just yer ordinary, everyday SEN school in a town few would think of as "desirable".

    Never worked in a school with better behaviour!

    Trouble is that a lot of teachers are so full of themselves. That alienates a lot of students. The profession often attracts people who welcome conformity and thrive on it.

    In a good working environment there are few rules required. People (including children of all ages) treat each other with respect and consideration. Well, that's been my experience of schools since I started teaching in 1980.
