I have an interview for a ks3 transition role, teaching y7 for English and Maths.

As a primary school teacher I am worried I think it’s a great opportunity I love English and Maths and seeing the move from KS2-3 will be a great learning opportunity but obviously it’s a different kettle of fish- any advice for me?

Well the setting must have identified key issues and are playing to your strengths / skills as a primary school teacher which it feels can enhance their provision . We used to have an AST ( when they existed ) who was primary trained but specialised in English. She became a lead also for literacy across the curriculum and at some point a lead for teaching and learning. Is it looking to recreate a primary school / nurture type environment? Is it acknowledging that the curriculum in core subjects needs modifying and that delivery by one specialist is the way forward ?
