  1. Hello,
Im a nqt and have been in my school for 2 terms now and have only been on induction training which was for one day. I have mentioned this with my metor on a few occassions and have asked if I am allowed to attend more training in relation to what I feel is important for my career development. However my metor just says that my most valuable career development is in the classroom.

Where could I find some training so that I can show my metor, so that I have some suggestions for him. Also I am entitled to have training am I not?

    Thank you.

At this stage in your career, and given that you do not have a specific course that you would like to attend identified, I feel your mentor is correct. Believe me, the novelty of INSET will wear off rapidly :)
