A role-play area in their school! [IMG]
    road markings
    street signs and names
    Belisha beacons and zebra crossings
trees along the road and any other vegetation]
    house numbers
    rubbish bins

    Fascinating stuff, eh?

Only joking. It's amazing what you spot when you really look.

Keep a look out for sparrows, blackbirds, squirrels and whatever other wildlife lives close by.

Each of my examples has the potential to cover all or some of the areas of learning. Go from the general to the particular.
Brainstorm, for example, Belisha Beacon [not with the children - this an exercise for you] and see what comes up.

Perhaps that should be the other way round.
  4. Hi Inky, thank you so much for your fab ideas. I really like your suggestion for the role play area, which will enable us to cover road safety in a focused task. :)
  5. How about taking a traffic survey - leads into road safety etc?

We had a tick sheet to tally how many cars/lorries/buses/bikes traveled along a road near school in 5 minutes
  6. More PSRN. A spot the shape walk.Take photos of objects with recognisable 2D, 3D shape and match them up back at school. Try to make them with junk modelling, playdough, sticks/bricks etc.
