Tonight's Football Violence And Vandalism.

If England win some people smash places up and if England loses even more people smash places up.

I expect a lot of vandalism in London: vehicles, bus shelters, shop windows etc. Most cities and towns will get it and there will be a lot of violence directed at anything not 'English'.

Let's just hope it's not too bad.

    The cells will be full!

In my region they are already asking people not to dial 999 unless absolutely necessary due to the huge number of calls they had last weekend.

    Also this:
DomesticViolence increases 26% when #England play. 38% if they lose.

I'm sure the majority are better than that and 99.9% will just be happy or sad but, in what I've observed, football seems to be a pathological thing for some people. I just saw my neighbour and said I hoped England won for him tonight. He quickly replied "for us". I don't know who this "us" is. I could do with a night off from the shouting coming through the wall.

You can see even I am caught up in this thing. For me it's the worry. I'll just be glad when it's all over (as they say).

Someone will be along in a minute to contest that, no doubt.

That's not a like really, just a sad and shocked acknowledgment.

Don't worry, we won't get that bad tonight, some of us have got work in the morning.

(Speaking as an England fan who, although partakes in no violent or destructive actions themself, recognises the effects of alcohol abuse and the social acceptance of this during such times.)

It’s tribal and it’s drink fuelled.

It is such a shame this wonderful occasion should be marred by being associated with mindless yobs. It is very depressing.:(

I've been playing La Marseillaise and Flower of Scotland to try to get "Football's Coming Home" out of my head. It's been there for weeks, on and off, but mostly on.

I think my sister is on duty tonight. She's a police officer in Blackpool.

    God help her!

Those numbers are for Lancashire in 2014.
    Celtic v Rangers manage 43%.

If the guy next door gets that vuvuzela out again there'll be violence all right. I'm still sleep deprived from the drunken attempts to play God Save The Queen on it at midnight in the garden at the weekend. Next time it won't be the Queen that needs saving.
