As Labour’s deputy leader, Watson led a review that saw the party reverse the stance taken under the leadership of Blair, whose government introduced the 2005 Gambling Act that introduced some of the world’s loosest gambling laws. That, in my book, puts him streets ahead of Blair.

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means.

I checked it out on Wiki:

"A person who holds [to] a political philosphy known as Toryism, based on a British version of traditionalism and conservatism..."

Yup. That is what Tory means.

Now to the noun? (And we don't need the Shakespearean version of it's meaning. At least, not for the nonce, anyhow.)

Are you quite sure of the parsing?

    Probably not. ;)

However, you gave a definition of the word 'Tory' in its noun form, not as an adjective, so yes - the word 'nonce' became the "other noun".

    "Touche"; well.... sort of !

    Vis-a-vis my definition.

Ah you mean right wing members of QAnon in the States? I think they're known as QA nonces?

You think wrong. "Nonce" is a British term and not one any American would recognize or use.

So that's how you get a peerage. I had often wondered.

I don't know; in a way it's kind of nice that some of the sh****iest and creepiest people in the country have their own club where they can dress up in ermine and act important and get other people to pay for it.

So he went easy on something or included a loophole that was worth a £100k bribe?
