Tips on forum navigation, colours and shortcuts

Discussion in 'Welcome lounge and forum help' started by TES_Bev, Sep 25, 2008.

  1. I hope these tips help.
With a forum open where you see a list of topics, go to the bottom – you can do this quickly by hitting the “END” key.
    Click “More options”
Here you can make temporary or permanent choices such as:-
Sort - sorting the order ascending or descending
Date filter – new since last visit (for example)
Topic – hide topics I’ve read
Send Email – receive an email when either new posts or topics are posted

You can also move up and down quickly using the page up and page down keys instead of the arrows and hit the HOME key to get to the top immediately.
You can jump to a forum quickly using the jump to forum option at the top of each forum in addition to the list on the right side of the screen.
Don't like the colours? Change them!
    Internet Explorer 7:
    General tab
Background click the square and choose another colour
    Ignore colours specified on webpages

How do I add a thread to my hot list? I used to know how.
  3. Open a topic/thread

    Click Forum Hotlist

Click ?Add this post to my hotlist?

This should say ?add a topic? to my hotlist and will be amended as soon as possible.

It doesn't say add a topic... I have added one topic but I am not sure how I did it! And I can't seem to add any more... thanks for your reply though. I am afraid all these tech things just make me feel slow. I don't understand the site at the best of times but now I feel like I have lost the plot!
