Tickell's early years vision

  1. There's a useful summary of the recommendations from the Tickell report in this week's TES.

  3. It's probably better to read the report yourself, TES don't have a good record recently regarding balanced summings up of reports.

  5. TES ran a headline a few weeks ago misrepresenting OFSTED's "Reading by Six" report. Following a ticking off from the Press Complaints Commission they were forced to print this "clarification":
https://www.tes.co.uk/article.aspx?storycode=6069259 Of course, the clarification is tiny and almost impossible to find in comparison to the original front page headline.

With regard to the article you are plugging here, the TES has been at it again, this time being admonished by Dame Tickell herself: http://www.education.gov.uk/inthenews/inthenews/a0076349/dame-clare-tickell-responds-to-inaccurate-reports-about-her-review-of-the-eyfs Of course this is nowhere to be seen in the article referred to above.

So until the TES summarise reports in a correct manner and apologise for and correct inaccuracies in a proportionate way, all such articles should be taken with a pinch of salt.
