Well yes, what do you expect? That she should be answerable to the AA or the Pope?

If you have evidence that Sharon White is biased in her running of Ofcom, you should let the relevant commons committee for the media know the full details. If it's merely another of those conspiracy theories, don't bother.

    Chief Executive of Ofcom

It would have been more useful to post an email address rather than a photograph of the woman.

Of course, Cambridge educated economists are just plucked off the street to CE governmental watchdogs irrespective of their appointments to HM Treasury. Ofcom's CE, meanwhile, is subordinate to its Chairman, currently a lord, and his Deputy Chairman, currently a baroness. On any given weekday lords and baronesses can be seen lolling around outside Job Centres checking their phones for zero-hour contract alerts.

Yes, created a life peer under the Labour giovernment in 1998. Formerly Head of Channel 4.

Yes, created a life peer under the Tory government in 1996. Formerly a chartered accountant for 30 years.

Ah, so no evidence as: just another silly conspiracy theory.

Perhaps we should have a referendum to elect the chair of Ofcom.

Knighted by Thatcher's government in 1983. Appointed to Chairman of Ofcom by May's government this January.

It is preposterous to suppose that people appointed to & maintained in positions of power will not apply that power at the behest of their benefactors. It is the working definition of "fit and proper" in Whitehall.

Lol, The point is if you're going to post something, post something useful. An address to make the recommended complaint to, rather than a photograph.

So there is no point in appointing anyone to a position of power because they will inevitably use their position to benefit whoever appointed them. Leave all positions of power vacant to avoid such an outcome.

What a weird world you inhabit!

And created a life peer by Tony Blair's government in 1998.

So what is your suggestion? Appoint nobody to anything?

I think grown ups know how to use Wiki (although I do suspect some here to have not yet grown up).
