I have been on these threads for years, and I have never replied to this one.

But I'd like to say Merry Christmas to mixu.
    She's a good'un.

Why do we spend so much time worrying? It's a pointless and futile emotion, it brings us down when often the things we worry about are beyond our control anyway.
Worried about my daft sis, and nothing I can do, I think my biggest problem is the lack of control I feel over everything.
That's me all Pshycobabbled out, hope everyone else is ok.xxx

  9. PC I spend my life worrying ...

  10. Is worriting (sp?) exactly the same as worrying?
I career between 'Bah! Meh! Who cares? It will all sort itself out. Course it will,' to 'OMG! The pipes are gonna burst. The roof will fall in. Have the kids done enough revision? My savings are gonna be stolen. Are the kids on drugs? Drinking too much? I'm gonna crash my car. I won't live till I'm sixty. I proabably have a terrible disease without knowing it.' etc
Often in one day! I'm knackered!

The problem with moving around is that you can easily feel lonely because there are not people around you who have shared your life and can't share your yesterdays. We have lived in our town for 30 years and wherever I go I meet people who know me and have shared my life. You don't think of these things when you are younger but they are important when you get older. Get involved with things in your town and get to know people and be involved in their lives. I hope this helps.

How did you find this thread, @JosieWhitehead ?

Sometimes though the problem with staying put is that everyone knows everything about everyone else. That can become very tedious and limiting. It would all become a bit ‘Jane Marple’ after 30 years of the same old faces, the same old stories and the same old gossip.

It just came up on the front page under 'Personal'. I didn't realize it was so old.
