What a great final in the Hopman Cup. Germany and Switzerland both deserved it.( SUI won)
Fabulous mixed doubles with the championship decided on sudden death.
Love the format. It would be good to have more like this.

Love it but huge fears for Andy. Really really like him and rate him and his dedication to the sport . I just wish he would turn to coaching ...

    Bah humbug much!
Surely anyone can find love in the game if they watch long enough?

Looks like Murray may have to retire after the weekend - he needs to look after his body now.

I'm sure he'll have a second career as a commentator.

Sadly I fear that the Australian open will be his last.

The best tennis player that we have ever produced and who knows when we will see a player like him again.

I will never forget his first Wimbledon win. It was so tense that I couldn’t breathe.

Sad but unsurprising news. A great career ending too soon.

Many sportsmen end up with careers that end in injury and then they just have to manage the condition.

I'm a gig fan of American Football (the NFL) - the average career is about 4 years and many players careers finish very early.

Same is true for our footballers too.

It's the right call but curiously I feel quite emotional......Andy Roddick tweet said it all. So disappointed for him . I hope he sticks around to commentate and / or coach. So much to offer.

Found that conference so so hard to watch ( through my fingers ) ....all that real raw emotion. Bleak at present but I hope he manages to get everything in perspective - family, friends, huge respect from his fellow professionals and gratitude of tennis followers everywhere. Bless...

It is sad. I feel his emotions.
But I'd like to retire aged 31 a multi millionare.

Poor Andy. Obviously taking it very badly. But he's probably in constant pain and that won't help his mood.

I hope he finds something to do that he really enjoys and that his new hip(s) don't give him too much grief.

Any tweets from Fed and Nadal ? Some lovely words from fellow professionals- will mean a lot I suspect ?
