I watched and loved Breaking Bad from beginning to end and never once thought of this. Thinking about it the entire premise is based on the poor guy's need to have a second job to survive. I wonder how long it will be until UK teachers are also in this position.

I used to have a cartoon stuck up in my home marking/prep/other schoolwork room that I generously donated the space and ground rent for. It was a line drawing of a careers teacher leaning on his clichéd patched elbows (so you knew it was a teacher) and he is earnestly and sadly saying to the pupil in front of him, "I wish I had listened to my careers teacher."

    Lost somewhere now.

I like that one where it says something like, 'Your lack of planning should not become my crisis' I think I've quoted it a bit wrong there but you get the idea.

I always think of it when we get emails on Sunday night or Monday informing us of new stuff that suddenly is vital and has to be completed (usually by Wednesday...).

Things that appear nowhere on a school calendar or in a SIP or a DIP. Things that no one has explained or run by staff in a meeting. Things that you will then be held accountable for if they are done late or wrong. It drives me crazy.
