I have just found out today that the school that I work in have been 'chosen' to take part in the new multiplication checks trials for 2016. What good do the government feel will come from this? Do we honestly need another pointless paper pushing exercise to yet again categorize our children?
I thought by the end of Year 4 times tables were meant to have been 'mastered'! Therefore if they insist these stupid tests have to take place, why are they not taking place in Year 4? Yet again everything happens in Year 6 as if teachers and children weren't stressed enough!
Dear Mrs Morgan, we do not need another test to tell us what our children have learnt, nor do the children need another piece of paper telling them whether they have 'passed or failed'- let the children be children and enjoy their education, enjoy learning and enjoy school. Cannot stand education at the moment, what a load of rubbish!!!

@JCA_1989 Did you take part in the trials for the multiplication tests this year? Everything seems to have gone quiet with this. Would be interested to know your experience or whether you know any more about this.
