    So what did everyone think?

I mean it's certainly not the way I thought it was going but it seems to be unbelievably polarising looking at the Meta-critic and Rotten Tomatoes scores

I have to say I really enjoyed it

    The Good:

Luke's story arc from young upstart to Jedi Knight to crabbit auld Master was perfect
Kylo continues to evolve and still grows in frustration by never being Vader
Poe is just awesome, his pig headed, han solo nature really gets taken to task and he grows because of it
Girl Power, damn ladies, when you show up, you show up

    The Bad

    Poor Snoke/Phasma , i would've liked more
    Predictable at parts?
That Casino Planet went on WAYYYYYYY too long

    The Ugly

    Superman Leia
Shoehorned Finn Love story to make way for Rey/Poe ?

I love discussing this with anyone who will listen and i'm facing Divorce from the Partner if it gets spoken of anymore

Help me TES. You are my Only hope ;)

I need to give it another watching. At the moment I feel that it suffered badly from pacing issues. I got where they were going with the Luke stuff I just think there was something a little off with aspects of it. Also the chase stuff could have been improved with some differences in how it was handled.

Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement there from @Moony

Although there'll be no definitive answer until @lanokia weighs in on the matter. He alone is the Supreme Arbiter. (A cross between Jabba the Hut and Yoda you should imagine if comparison you seek.)

I enjoyed it although I did feel like it went on for too long.

    Superman Leia was ridiculous!

The bits of it I liked I really liked, I'm a bit hmmm still on other parts. Overall though it wasn't as bad as the prequel trilogy, and I do still watch that I just treat it as a set of films about Obi Wan Kenobi.

Did you grow up with the original? It seems those who did feel utterly betrayed.

Well we went to see it for Elder Pee's birthday. I enjoyed it for what it is - a film for children. The major thing to notice was that the ladies have taken over and are now running things - ok to a point, but the purple rinse grandmother in charge of that inter-galactic monster ship? Just odd.

Further evidence of struggling for a story line was surely the glass christmas decoration deer things to show the way out of the cave? Perhaps the script writers were pressed for time:rolleyes:

How about the budgie-penguin things? Or the floppy-eared racing lama things?

Many of the video reviews on Youtube are very negative. Even the stars hate it.

But then again, Alex Guinness always hated being in it.

I assumed that was a crudely obvious 'cuddly toy for christmas' marketing piece

Oh they were ok. Is the little stable boy with broom the start of the next film?

You've all gone and got me watching reviews of this again now! This is interesting. Look at his face! Not a happy bunny...

What the hell did I just watch?

Plots shoehorned in to justify returning characters... Luke Skywalker was a mess of poor writing... the pacing was a mess, time frame was all over the place... urgh...

    Good thing? Kylo Ren....

    Slowest space chase ever...

I don't care that Laura Dern made a noble sacrifice... it should have been Admiral Ackbar... maybe with a quip about a 'trap'.

The Mary Sue of Rey has been replaced by the Mary Sue of BB8.

I've seen geeks complaining about the new abundance of female lead characters, but their inclusion just feels like it's been done right, it doesn't feel at all like a response to SJW demands rather more organic. I Rey is the best protagonist so far in the series, old Luke and Anakin were very dry but Rey and new Luke are much better, more witty and sarcastic.

Admiral Holdo and Captain Phasma are similar, Holdo seemed like she was going to put the whole resistance in danger but instead it turned out she was planning to give up her own life to save everyone else. While Phasma was ultimately self serving, I hope she didn't meet her end and allies with the resistance against Kylo Ren in IX.

Luke milking space seals and drinking it fresh... yeah...

    And there you have it.

    The Supreme Arbiter.

A load of crapola it is, he says. Not happy with it he is. Talking about it now we can stop.
