The REAL language debate the government is avoiding

  1. I beg to differ with the OP. We offer French and Spanish and have many interested enough to take them up at GCSE.
    I suspect its one of those books exhorting the teaching of Mandarin. My question is, where are all the teachers to come from? That never seems to be answered adequately or realistically.
     
  2. We teach Mandarin Chinese and the pupils are no more interested than they are in any of the other languages on offer (French, Spanish, German). Bore off Hichokan, we're all sick of your harping on.

    This recent article sums up the situation well. Compare Mandarin now with Japanese some decades ago. Hikochan likes a bit of a troll!
