Hi, does someone use "the ravenous beast" in their lessons? What kind of activities do you think I can do with this book? Thanks a lot.

Literacy based activities or all subject areas?

Thanks for your message. I would like Literacy and maths activities.

It really depends on the abilities and targets for the individuals but activities could include:

    describing the animals
looking at feelings of the characters
imagining your own ravenous beast and describing it
extending the story with another animal and further things to eat
    retelling the story

counting items into or out of the ravenous beast
    colour matching the animals
feeding the ravenous beast particular shapes
using ordinal numbers to sort the story
    making symmetrical 'beasts'

All these activities could be differentiated for abilities using symbols were necessary or word matching etc as appropriate for each individual.

    Thanks a lot.
I think all the activities you suggested matching perfectly with my student's abilities (they are P7-L2).
    Thanks again!
