Has anybody entered one of these races? I'm getting back into cycling and running and wondered what sort of fitness level is needed. Also I'm in my seventh decade:)

Husband has a local gas delivery man who regularly enters. It sounds quite gruelling and you do need to be fit and strong.

You might need one of these suits

    Probably right there:)

I'm pretty fit and have taken part in small marathons and long distance cycling on hills.

Still interested in hearing from anyone who's done the ironman

Well if you are skilled in triathlon.... you could just focus on the swimming! Swimming as a sport has long had a Master's programme so you would get plenty of competition from your age group - even international competition! What more could you ask for as swimming is about the best exercise you can do - many many long term health benefits!
Do let us know how you get on.
