The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

Discussion in 'Book club' started by chocolate_cupcake, Apr 22, 2011.

  1. Has anyone read this? I am in the middle of it and it is absolutely brilliant so far. It's fascinating, astonishing, shocking and interesting all at the same time.
It's particularly good for anyone with an interest in medical science and ethics. Definitely the best non fiction book I have read in a long time!

Just finished it on my Kindle - very interesting, and a very affecting human story behind it all. To be honest, I'm a bit of a science geek and would have liked a bit more nitty-gritty science to get my teeth into, but it made for a really interesting story. The author obviously really got involved with Deborah Lacks and did a great job explaining all the ethical problems.
