It is the first day of the summer holidays for me, and most of us I assume, but here I am posting.. The reason I'm here is for two things, I start a new job in the hospital education service in September and I am really excited. So I have been looking online for some advice and other people's experiences and I can't find very much at all. 1: What are your experiences of working within the HES? What advice can you give? 2: Can you suggests any books or websites, so that I can do some research. I've been teaching for 8 years, and it's a long time since I did any detailed academic study within education, so please point me in the right direction. What is the Hospital Education Service? For those of you who aren't familiar with what the HES does, my job will involve teaching students who are off school, either because they are ill, or they have a mental health issue. I might be teaching them at home, at our school, or in hospital. I could have them for a few months, or even years. Thank you in advance for any ANY help that you can give.
