20th Century Fox have kindly released a Christmas trailer for Die Hard.

It's a wonderful life. No competition, Jimmy Stewart all the way.

'No man is a failure who has friends' I take that to mean us girls too!

Absolutely, @freckle06. How could anyone not love Clarence?
"Love Actually" is an unfocussed mess compared to Capra.
Although I do have a soft spot for "Die Hard", which is also nonsense, but great fun... Like "Speed"

If you boil them long enough, the green colour comes out into the water. I think that's how my Mother-in-Law used to do it.

I find Elf a bit too weird to watch.

PS Sorry I might be thinking of The Grinch. One of them gives me nightmares!

    Christmas film???

The "m" word has never been heard to fall from my lips. Nor ever shall.

Given my current avatar? The 1951 film. "Scrooge".

Back when I was a real teacher I used to show It's A Wonderful Life to my Y10 Media classes in the last week before Xmas.

They loved it, even though it was black and white and not the latest all action blockbuster.

The Great Escape? Or a Roger Moore Bond movie? Not christmassy, but always on in the holidays when I was a kid.

I love Die Hard and It's a Wonderful Life, but The Great Escape is the film I always associate with Christmas. I've seen it so often I could probably recite most of it, but it still makes me cry.
