At least one of the two managers will break their duck of never having won anything with an English team.
Spurs are trying to kill me. What a game.
This has been a superb week for English football - absolutely stunning performances by both teams this week.
Sign of the times
The traditional European power teams are going through a bit of a lull.
Everything crossed for tonight!
CHELSEA (and Arsenal)!!
......but I am more than faintly worried ......
Arsenal are poor away from home so they could miss out. Chelsea are probably good enough to go through though I think it could be close.
That's a frequent refrain of mine watching Ulster, Ireland or the Lions.
I don't think they will squeeze the premiership, though.
Well, we did it.
But I was right to be worried!
Chelsea didn't seem very penetrative with Hazard not at his best and the Frankfurt defence pretty accomplished. They will need to be worlds better if they hope to win the cup.
They're playing Arsenal remember
A sad anniversary today. All the deaths are tragic but what is participating striking is the number of elderly people who died and the fathers and their young sons who never returned home.
Football tragedies always live long in the memory.
I was at the Bradford City Fire in 1985
I'll never forget that day.
Sorry to hear that Peakster. It must have been an awful experience.
Yes it was - we were on the other side of the pitch to the stand - if you ever see photos of that stand burning - you would think it was a miracle that anyone got out.
I'd been to virtually every City home game in the previous couple of seasons - but I never returned to Valley Parade after that game and I left Bradford the Summer after the fire.
Haven't seen the team since - but will again next Season when they visit Cambridge.
I saw the footage on the news at the time (and have viewed it online since) and it is amazing that anyone survived. Apparently the cameramen got abuse for continuing to film...but afterwards those who had been shouting abuse at them said they did the right thing. People needed to know what happened. It still shocks.
There were lots of incredible stories that day - one of my friends got people out of that stand - he got badly burned on one arm and still carries the scars.
Champions! Much love to Liverpool and good luck in the CL. I’d love to see you win it.
I suspect they will.
Looking forward to pre-season already.
