It is increasingly difficult to talk about important issues in the abstract without someone assuming that they, their child or some person from a minority are being attacked personally.

Yes I know what you mean. Some people do seem to take offence where none was intended; increasingly so.

And you choose to emphasise your point with an image of a rich, white male. An example of why people get offended.

    Clearly taunting the alcoholics...

You should be ashamed of yourself.

I think this post should be reported to the mods. I'm finding it very offensive.

So we're talking about immigration, travellers, Pakistani rape gangs and Katie Hopkins?

In my experience, those that complain about others taking offence, are usually the ones to hit the 'offended' button first.

I think i have the perfect example of this

The day the Captain Marvel TRAILER dropped

a woman (blogger of some sort) posted how many Words were spoken by Sam L Jackson and Brie Larson (someone who clearly has no idea of theatre or film) remarking "come on you can do better Marvel"

a ludicrous statement - specially if you have any experience of film or theatre performance

but the comment immediately underneath reads

"So you have a problem with a man of colour being represented"

    This is peak surely

We even have laws now that rest on someone 'being offended'. It's terifying. Someone's tender feelings should not be the basis for another person to be charged with a criminal offence. A law that rests on a person being upset by something is far too subjective.

A few more instances like the following and perhaps our lawmakers will come to their senses:
