I'm in the middle of a Dark Tower novel now [the third one and finally the series is taking off, Sunday morning saw me consume 100 pages]... so not sure I'll be joining in October.

Also I have a self-imposed moratorium on buying books.

I reserved October's book, Tin Man at the library, I’ve to pick it up on Saturday, so I’ll have to wait until then. I’m looking forward to reading it though. :)

I'm in the middle of a whopping great book now so may have to skip October's book. I shall still post random emoticons though just to keep your spirits up.

Took forever to load my post, so I tried again.. and again... and then it did the trifecta thing and posted my review three times. I couldn't delete, so had to edit, hence the subsequent two messages. :)

Still having internet problems - a bit random, sometimes it works and mainly it doesn't, and awaiting new modem. Seems to be working tonight. :)

Loved reading everyone's responses to book, which I was able to read at work today in my lunchbreak. I'd love to go into this in more detail now, but still slow to go back to other pages :(

I’m going to pick up Tin Man this morning and meeting a friend in town for lunch afterwards. So I will be able to start reading it this evening :)

Long convoluted answer coming up I’m afraid @galerider123, sorry everyone!

I was going to suggest Saturday 28th through to Monday 30th October for Tin Man chatter as I thought people may be likely to have some free time around then. It will be the start of half term for most and it’s over a weekend.

Unfortunately, while it may be a convenient time for most, I personally will be undergoing some necessary medical stuff around that time (hopefully I’ll only actually be in hospital for a few days from admission on the 25th). The nature of the treatments means I don’t know how my energy levels will be over that weekend. I could be fine, I could be stuck in there for over a week, I could be sent home but not well enough to focus on posting on here. I just don’t know.

However, I have already finished the book so if no one objects I thought I could perhaps post my two penneth worth earlier that week before I go in. Then, if I’m not up to being part of a discussion at the end of the month, I would at least have already shared my views (which [Spoiler Alert] are very positive :)).

Don’t let me alarm you btw. These are medical procedures that I’m quite used to and I’m also used to managing the subsequent low energy levels and need for rest. It’s just one of those things . We do try to schedule them around school holiday times though, to avoid me having to take loads of time off work. The only reason I mention it at all is that I know I may be ‘off grid’ at the end of this month and therefore for the Tin Man feedback weekend.

Right, best actually get some work done now!

I've only just found this thread, didn't know it existed. I've just started a large book which I want to finish first but I will join you for the November one, I like that it will force me to read something that I wouldn't normally read

I do hope you are ok @peggylu Look after yourself x

My library has ordered the book but no sign of it arriving yet. I'll give it another week and then I might have to buy it, but that's ok :)

I am still ploughing my way through The God of Small Things and am just not enjoying it, but refusing to admit defeat :)

I am looking forward to Tin Man!

Thanks for the good wishes @Motherofchikkins and @galerider123 I’m sure I’ll be all hunky-dory again by the end of the half-term break. :)

Tin Man was another quite short book wasn’t it. Are noteable books getting shorter in general these days?

@Motherofchikkins sorry you haven’t been able to get hold of the book yet. I was wondering, does your library membership give you access to other libraries that may have a copy of Tin Man already? For example my library card lets me get books from any library in the borough so I can go online to reserve books from any of about 20 branches.
