Textured play in Year 1 - what else could I use?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by pocoyo, Sep 8, 2011.

  1. Hi all, this week I have had some textured play in my class of Year Ones and they have loved it. I have had shaving foam and gloop made out of corn flour. Apart from playdough I was wondering what else I could use for textured play?

    Thank you. :0)

Sticklebrix sort of blocks, sandpaper stuck on things, Velcro, different fabrics like satin/stretch jersey/'embossed' patterns/crepe/tights, cotton wool, sponge, soft and 'sharp' tissue... Have you tried things in a feelie bag with a pair object to match to?
  3. Sand? Foil? Netting? Cotton Wool?

  4. cold cooked spaghetti!
  5. Pasta, rice, cornflower with water xx
