textbooks AQA New Specs

Discussion in 'English' started by MissTrouble, Jun 24, 2011.

  1. Has anyone used any textbooks for the new Spec for AQA English language that are worth buying?
    Please let me know-thanks!

  2. We have bought the Heinemann ones, and they seem quite useful - lots of AFL which our students need and find really helpful.
Like all textbooks, they need to be mixed with a variety of other resources, but, in general, they're quite good.

We spent well over a thousand pounds on the Collins ones. I've used them once, and they're languishing in the stockroom. They're okay but the students don't much like textbooks - they told me they get enough of them in maths and science ;-)

  4. Have you tried English edusites instead? http://english.edusites.co.uk

Rather than using textbooks, these have resources for half the price! If you're not sure, check out the blog first

  5. We got some Nelson Thorne ones ... I only bought five. I won't be buying anymore.
Agree with Edu site - also the ever friendly Teachit and I often raid the TES resources...
