text to speech - Dear Joe

Discussion in 'Modern foreign languages' started by sommersprossen, Jan 27, 2011.

  1. Do you know of an easy to use text to speech website that allows students to save it as an mp3 that they could then load onto their mp3 player / phone?

    thanks

  4. You could also use www.voki.com. Students can save their creations to blogs, wikis, facebook, twitter, etc

I've made my students use http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php It's really good, lets you pick the language and save it as mp3 file. Only 300 characters, but it's helped with controlled assessments. Hope that's what you were looking for!

Here's another Text to Speech tool I heard about from one of Wendy Adeniji's great presentations:

  7. Thanks for your suggestions - going to try them out in school - and see if they're not blocked by the local authority!
