TES Seminar - Successfully Navigating the Induction Year

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by James_Williams, Jan 24, 2011.

  1. Dear NQTs
I am hosting a TES seminar on Sunday 13th February at the TES HQ in London. The seminar is suitable for any NQT who is about to start induction, has recently started or has already completed a term.
Understanding the requirements of NQT induction, how the induction standards differ from QTS standards and how induction is a process that involves more than just observation and assessment of the NQT by the mentor/headteacher leads to a better induction process.
The seminar will cover the main aspects of the NQT statutory guidance and will outline the roles of the following:
The NQT; The Local Authority; The Headteacher; The Induction Mentor.
The current statutory induction process and how the induction year should be negotiated will be fully explained.
This half day seminar available in London on Sunday 13th February will include:
Session 1 – Induction: the bare essentials of how the induction process operates – what should happen when and who’s responsible for what.
Session 2 – Evidencing induction constructing an effective portfolio without creating too much work
Session 3 – Avoiding induction problems.
Places are limited and can be booked by clicking on this link.
    http://tesweekendworkshop10.eventbrite.com/
The cost of the seminar is £55 for a morning or afternoon slot. There is also an offer for two seminars (the NQT induction seminar followed by a 'Winning that Teaching Job' seminar) at a joint reduced price (option 3 on the booking site).
I'm looking forward to meeting some of you and helping you navigate your way through a successful induction year.
    James
