I'd assumed you might have had an advisory role for Mollie Sugden there. I can see stylistic similarities in the dialogue. :)

    Dear Dunty,

I have devised a cunning plan that I hope will limit the amount of nagging I get from the women in my life. It involves spending more time in the library and having the librarian tell them to shut the cluck up instead of their taking offence when I do.

Do you happen to know what library opening hours are so I can plan my days?

Oooh, it's the other way round! When I was an aspiring actress, Mollie took me under her wing and I was honoured to be her understudy on one occasion. I even got to wear one of her famous wigs.

I never got to stroke her *****, though.

No, Duke. I don't frequent such places!

And why do you take so many of your 'women' to the library?

    Dear Dunty,

One of my residents showed me a bottle of this[IMG]

and asked how much of it I thought would need to be rubbed into her grandson's eyes before the little bleeder stopped crying. I told her I had no idea, as I was brought up in the days when parents threatened kids that if they didn't stop crying they'd get something to cry about, but said you would probably be kind enough to answer her question.

    Johnson's baby shampoo.

So my Sainsbury's coconut shampoo isn't made from coconut, but is for coconuts?

The alternative doesn't bear thinking about - plenty of tears at Johnson's if that were the case.

I'd like to know why dog shampoo carries a label that says it hasn't been tested on animals.

Readers, why are you wasting money on shampoo (and shower gel)?

Just do what I do! Get a bottle of Stardrips or summat similar, clean the bathroom with it, then jump in the shower and give yerself a good wash and shampooing!

You could do it with a friend. Waste not, want not.:)

Do it with a friend after, or during, the shower? Asking for a friend.

On the subject of soap crossovers, when I was a kid my Mum used to make my bubble baths for me with Stergene, which was a ruddy fabric detergent. No wonder I grew up to be a woolly liberal.
