I am thinking of applying for a HLTA job offered but the job advert says "term time only"
Does anyone one know what this means specifically?

You get paid for term time only. 38 weeks or something very similar

Although I'm sure you'll be told you're a highly valued member of staff...

    38 weeks paid over 52?

Not necessarily. You will need to ask. Be very sure you understand what's on offer and exactly what remuneration you will get. Many of these jobs have the scale pay and then "pro rata" to denote the fact you will only get a proportion of this.

Applying for jobs in education used to be relatively straightforward (although always less so for support people) but now it is a real minefield in which you need your wits to navigate.

There is only one place you will get an answer about this specific job. That is the employer.

Also be aware that you will not be entitled to any jobseeker allowance (or whatever its called now) during the school holidays since you are not strictly unemployed.
