Teaching personification

  1. Is personification too hard a concept for a year four class?

    I don't think so but it depends what you want hem to learn. It's pretty easy to recognise it in a short extract or poem, harder to spot when reading a novel, harder still to explain its effect. Plenty of GCSE students struggle with considering why it might have been used and explaining the effect on readers.
