Teaching overseas jobs all year round?

Discussion in 'Teaching abroad' started by ohrid, May 25, 2012.

  1. Do jobs for overseas come up all year round or is it just jobs that come up to start in September?

  2. You are aware that not all countries start their academic year in September?

  3. I take that as answer to my question! Thanks.

People get sick, die, don't turn up, and do runners. So although there are certain main recruiting periods there can sometimes be jobs for people who are available at short notice.

  5. Also a lot of the more incompetent for-profit schools don't recruit the number of teachers needed for all the children the admissions department admitted over the summer, meaning that at the start of September the schools are desperate for more teachers. They'll recruit anyone qualified and breathing in the first few weeks of term. And sometimes teachers need to go back to the UK or wherever during the year, so vacancies can arise at any time.
