    Hi,

    Recently been offered a job in Shanghai at 33,000 RMB per month (pre-tax). Wondered if anyone knew the exchange rate, as I've heard its low (one of the reasons I have been looking at China for jobs) but also heard it is 25% for that salary range.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA

    Tax is 25% so;
    33000-4800(tax free allowance)
    (28200/100)x75=21150
    21150+4800=25960rmb

    At todays ex rate=2960GBP

    26955 after tax, as Shanghai does not charge social insurance payments.

    I checked that this calculates my salary correctly.

    Exchange rate yesterday was 8.77 RMB to 1 GBP = 3073.54 GBP per month (not including exchange and remittance fees, of course)
