    Hi all,

Has anyone had experience teaching NYC as a UK qualified teacher? I was hoping people could point me in the right direction.

I'm hoping to apply via the NYC DoE but will I need residency/social security to register? Has anyone got sponsors from another sponsor organisation that wasn't their school?

I love the city and I am really interested in their Renewal and Rise schools program and I am looking to experience a new education system and culture. I am aware of the international schools there but I am more interested in working in state schools although I imagine the process is incredibly long and also a hassle for schools.

I have 6 years experience as Head of Languages and also as a pastoral leader. Any help would be appreciated!

    Many thanks in advance.
