Teaching in Dubai, Concerns.

Discussion in 'Workplace dilemmas' started by iagospear, Feb 27, 2011.

  1. Dear All,
Is anyone aware of a forum where teachers can be openly informed and made aware of serious concerns about working in a particular school in Dubai. I have just concluded working (due to serious working condition concerns) in a School that is repeatedly advertising on TES for Specialised Teacher and Primary Teachers.
In the TES forum mentioning Individual school names is against their terms and conditions of use policy. The advertising Department have been informed about some of the serious concerns about the school, I am unsure as to whether they will take action or whether the revenue is of greater importance, than teachers welfare.
Please let me know if there is a forum, where an open and honest discussion can take place.

Can you give some examples of what the problem is? It's hard to know how seriously to take this. I think that "serious working conditions" could be applied to many schools in the UK.
If you have genuine cause to share, rather than just you've had a bad experience, I would try to post with details and enough "cryptic" clues which would enable someone looking for a job to deduce which school you mean. e.g. "Their website says .... but .... ".
