Teaching in Australia!

Discussion in 'Teaching overseas' started by Elohim, Mar 19, 2011.

  1. Hi Gemma,
Yes - my past Australian lecturer tells me that this is the best website to start with:
    https://www.det.nsw.edu.au/about-us/careers-centre/school-careers/teaching/our-programs-and-initiatives/overseas-trained-teachers
    Also try:
    http://www.anzukteachers.com.au/teacher-requirements.html

  2. Phie, we are struggling with what is considered 'outside adelaide' as it seems all the capital cities sprawl for quite a way - would somewhere like Port Arthur (which looks kinda small on the map), or even Port Wakefield be considered 'outside Adelaide' (up the very top of the Gulf St Vincent)? I know it sounds stupid, and we will find out when we get there (are planning on a 6 month reccie so its not massively important we know right now, but just being nosey really), just already excited lol.
We were hoping to settle somewhere small townish, as we aren't really city people, but don't know if rural rural Australia will suit the kiddies we plan on having - is there a middle ground between the capitals and rural tiny places? :/
