Teachers Pensions have issued a warning about organisations which claim to offer pension advice and alternative pension schemes for teachers.

Some of these organisations and companies use official, government sounding names or branding that suggest that they are somehow linked to, or endorsed by, Teachers Pensions or the Department for Education. Be wary of any companies contacting schools directly offering these types of 'pension advice' services or 'alternative' pension schemes.

Schools and teachers should check that any companies offering pension advice services are approved by Teachers Pensions, the Department for Education or their teaching union. Always check first!

    See the TP note below:

Important information - alternative pension scheme
As a teaching establishment you may be aware of, or may have been contacted by, organisations promoting potential alternative pension schemes for workers in the Education Sector.

We are contacting you to make it clear that any such arrangements are NOT associated with either the Department for Education or the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
