I'm just curious to know what a teacher should expect to earn at the end of her/his NQT Year. Some tend to suggest that there is no more teachers' pay scale. Yet, it's possible to download one for the current on the internet. It was jointly issued by the Teachers' Union. Also, it appears that each school seems to be at liberty to pay teachers as they wish. Your insights would be appreciated.

That is what they are advising schools to pay. :)

    It has no legal validity.

No more Pay Portability, no more pay scale, no more automatic moving up the scale.

By this, do you mean at the beginning of the second year? Then the answer is - as is the answer to most questions on pay that are posted here - whatever the school's Pay policy says.

    Best wishes
