  1. Does the new deal mean that those former promoted post holders who lost their substantive posts with the introduction of faculties post McCrone, will now also lose their conserved salaries?

  3. Yep. That's what the EIS recommended members to accept, and that's exactly what a majority of members voted to do, of the ones who voted. The ones who didn't vote don't count.

    In my 30+ year career, the EIS management have let the membership down in spectacular fashion before. However, this is the first time I have been so angered and disgusted at what both management and membership have conspired to inflict on the profession. Relatively few will be unaffected, even if only in terms of changes to "school closure days" and loss of preparation / correction time rather than salary. When COSLA have their way and we are no longer a profession but a pool of casual childminders, the penny might drop.
