    Ive just seen a post like this from 2007 and so thought it would be good to do one for those applying this year - Everyone should write their name, and put one of these simple answers next to it;

    Sitting on ar*e
    Filling in application
    Waiting for reference
    Waiting for welcome letter
    Waiting for response from 1st choice (name place)
    Got interview (give date/name place)
    Waiting for interview result
    Got place! (name place)
    Waiting for response from second choice
    Got interview (give date/name place)

    You get the idea? I don't think anyone's beyond this stage yet.

    Anyway, copy and paste the names in the posts above yours, so the newest email will always be a complete list. I'll begin;

    got interviews-

    A new book on Teacher Education in England
    A forthcoming book by Tony Brown, Teacher Education in England - A Critical Interrogation of School-based Training documents the recent School Direct Research Project.

    "This book records and analyses many failures of contemporary teacher education policy in England. It is evident that short-termist, marketised manipulation cannot guarantee the quality or supply of teachers which the nation needs. More stable, educationally principled approaches, based on respect for teacher expertise and constructive partnerships between schools and universities, are clearly called for." Andrew Pollard
