    A sharing information topic.
Which books (top 5 list) would you want in the CPD / teacher section of your school library. I'll start with some obvious ones, but it would it would be good to hear a cross selection of ideas:

    1. Williams and Black: Inside the Black Box Plus Working Inside TBB & Beyond the black box
    2. Howard Gardner: Multiple Intelligences: New Horizons
    3. Lorin W. Anderson and David R. Krathwohl: A Taxonomy for Learning, Teaching, and Assessing: A Revision of Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives
    4. Jean-Jacques Rousseau: Emile
    5. Susan Davies: The Essential Guide to Secondary Teaching: Practical Skills for Teachers

I will add only one: Michael Marland's The Craft of the Classroom. It wasn''t a recommended text on my PGCE but I wish it had been. I discovered it in the library well into term 3.

Great thread idea :) I'd add Becoming A Secondary School Teacher (Scott-Baumann) even though it is a bit old now, as it is very comprehensive. I also liked Talk-Less Teaching by Isabella Wallace - even though not everyone will be able to use all of the ideas, there is a great selection to choose from.

Are these all ideas for secondary teachers? I haven't heard of any of them (I am an early years/primary teacher). Can people add this information to their suggestions, please?

I wish my school had a library like this!

Not all exclusively for secondary. Kartoshka.
If you school doesn't have a teacher CPD section, I'd be interested to know what kind of school it is.

Thanks to the other contributors. I may order some for my library.

De Bono - The Use of Lateral Thinking (1967) ISBN 0-14-013788-2

Ideal for IBDP students, as well as for training, imho.
