Teach Leeds ??

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by badoo1982, Jan 5, 2011.

  1. I was going to apply for a GTP through Bradford college but have come across the Teach Leeds Programme on their website , there is little information about it and I wondered if anyone new anything about it , ie what is the difference between that and a regular GTP ? You are only allowed to apply for one or the other so was really after some more information . Has anyone else applied to Tecah Leeds ??

  3. Hey there
I have been looking into it too and i know one of the heads on the teach Leeds programme.
Basically BNETT have split their funding into 2 sides:
1- teach leeds (schools who are comitted to the GTP programme who you are placed with who will work as a network)
2- Other schools (if you have a school willing to support your application and place you for the year)
With teach leeds you have to work within one of the named schools and its great if you are coming from outside the profession and dont have connections with a school.
You follow the same training programme as the normal GTP its more about where you are placed. I hope that helps.

Keep in touch as i am applying too!

  4. It was Bradford partnership, going to speak with my head on Monday. However it did say in the letter that they would not give any feedback to me or the school regarding my application.
My interview is on the 30th of March, i agree 10 mins is not long. I have a few ideas going to try them out on the kids at school first to see what works.

  5. Me neither Marie. Mine said I met the criteria but other applicants were stronger.

  6. Wow! Now I'm REALLY nervous if you have both received your letters!! Hopefully mine comes tomorrow to put me out of my misery!! I wonder how many people they are offering interviews to because they must have less places than previous years due to Teach Leeds. It's going to be a long day at work knowing that there's a chance the letter's waiting at home! I'll let you know if/when I hear anything!

  7. Hi everyone
I've still not heard owt yet!
    Getting reallly nervous!
Contacted them yesterday and they said that the teach leeds letters are going out this week.
Did you apply to the teach leeds or bradford?

  8. My application was to Bradford General Partnership and I received my letter today inviting me to an interview. I would assume that Teach Leeds applicants would be hearing from them soon too.
