we haven't for a long time. Certainly not since 1204 when our western christian crusaders destroyed the eastern christian city and allowed the muslim domination of the entire Middle east, Turkey and the Balkans.

Mike Flynn [US National Security Advisor] was in the pay of Turkey [$500,000] while in office and acted in TURKISH interests while in office, stopping operations against ISIS because it was in Turkey's interests....

Meanwhile Turkey demands the USA remove a representative who has voiced support for arming Syrian Kurdish groups [labelled terrorists by Ankara].

Lanokia, there's a new book out on Erdogan:

Looks like it's quite scholarly and balanced.

Just thought that you might be interested. I'm going to wait for the cheaper paperback edition.

He'll just do a deal with the Trump empire, and will get a pass. He's already arrested the chair and head of Amnesty International. Arresting the CHP leader is a short step.

I don't think that Trump will mind too much. And post Brexit, we won't be able to afford to look a gift horse in the mouth either.

Turkey's education system has been coming bottom of the league tables for years. But that's what happens when you put political indoctrination above education as the purpose of a school.

That said, the way things are going in our own system, we'll be joining them soon.

Will Tayyib authorise military intervention into Iraq to suppress the Iraqi Kurds from their Independence bid Monday?

And will that trigger another round of conflict?

I'mm watching with interest to see how the international community reacts to this and how it compares to the official stance on the Catalaunyan referendum.

Tayyib has sent the troops into Idlib province to ''stop the fighting'' [also known as backing up his allies among the rebels as they try to root out the jihadist that Tayyib was previously supporting]

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-41607822

In our new Orwellian world, Tayiib was never supporting the Jihadist, they've always been the enemy and these new ally surrogates are fabulous freedom fighting forces.

Can I have a prize for alliteration please?

The idea of ‘moderate Islam’ was invented by the West and is being used to weaken the ancient religion, Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan has said in reference to Saudi Arabia’s reforms, while also lashing out at the EU’s “discrimination” of Muslims.
Last month, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, vowed to restore “moderate” Islam to the kingdom considered to be "home" of the religion. The Gulf monarchy currently follows a Salafist or Wahhabi version of Islam that is often described as being "ultraconservative" and administered through Islamic Sharia law. In what appears to be a direct reference to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Erdogan denounced a “moderate” interpretation of Islam in a speech delivered at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Women’s Advisory Council on Friday.
