Taking antibiotics in 1st trimester

Discussion in 'Pregnancy' started by noeyedeer, Mar 21, 2011.

  1. Just to say that I had a couple of courses of these when pregnant and now have a big fatty of a 9week old typing as we speak. They don't do studies on pregnant women but with such common medicines they can tell through the years of necessary use that they are safe.

  2. i had two lots of amoxycillin before 12 weeks as i was so ill with an infection that hadn't cleared up after 4 weeks untreated. i had 250 3x a day and then a week of 500 3x a day. my LO is doing very well with no complications x

Thanks ladies, in the end I didn't take them as I feel much better today, but I would have no qualms about taking antibiotics if I need to at a later point thanks to your reassuring comments.
    xx
