Tacky or tasteful? (according to the DM)

Apparently some Christmas decorations are acceptable, whilst others are a big no-no.

    In:
    Real Christmas trees
A wreath on your front door
    White fairy lights
A star at the top of the tree

    Out:
Artificial trees, especially those not coloured green (pink and white are the worst)
Large bows covering your front door
    Multi-coloured fairy lights
A fairy/angel at the top of the tree
Anything electronic singing or dancing by your front door.

So...... are your decorations tacky or tasteful?

I'm inclined to ask 'Says who?' but, as it happens, mine are apparently tasteful apart from having an artificial tree with a pig at the top.

I'm not doing without red, yellow, blue and green lights.

I love going and looking at the Christmas decorations for sale in the big stores. Harrods has a fine selection of tasteless but expensive tat. I've always had white lights and a star on the tree but have also had an artificial tree for the last 20 years - guess that makes me a bit of both?

We’re very tasteful :) It has nothing to do with what the DM says- which certainly isn’t tasteful.

The local Jack Wills store has a tree made of green plastic bottles. It’s very effective.

Good taste according to the DM? Really? :D

However you decorate your tree and home if it makes you and your family happy then it’s ‘In’.

Yup; Christmas trees are for children to decorate - the more OTT the better. For real offensive tackiness, try the Mail on line

Does it matter what other people think? I don't care what's "in" and "out". You should do what you enjoy and makes you happy. I know someone who would love the toilet cover...….:D. In fact she might already have one. ………………..
